Pioneer Hall Renovation/Addition Design Team to Speak at Oct. 28-31 Housing Facilities Conference

What happens when an aging, historic hall, rich in character and tradition, no longer meets student needs and expectations? How do you modernize within budgetary constraints without losing the building’s character-defining features? Using the historic Pioneer Hall at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities as a case study, speakers Matt Sutherland, Project Design Manager at KWK Architects; Daniel Elliott, Associate Director, Facilities Housing & Residential Life at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities; and Brian Morse, Senior Architect at TKDA; will discuss at the ACUHO-I/APPA Housing Facilities Conference (Oct. 28-31, 2019) how they were able to honor Pioneer’s historical scale and sense of place while providing new systems, amenities, and spaces that meet student expectations and positively impact students’ social and academic success. We hope to see you there!
